Description: Performance bar for HTIB systems reached a new level after Denon DHT stepped into the market. It has powerful Denon AVR391, 1080p HDMI repeating technology and also supports 5.1 channel HT AV receiving. This enables single cable connectivity to any HDMI device. This HDMI technology also supports virtual surround system thus enabling excellent movie viewing experience. It also has DD+, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HR and dts-HD. The Denon’s 5 x 110Watt amplifier unit delivers high quality music with in-depth detail and dynamic surround capabilities. The 5.1 speaker system complements the powerful AVR-391 in spite of its small size. The front speaker system comes with 3inch woofers and 1inch tweeter whereas the surround speakers come with a 3inch driver. But the main player of this system is the 8inch subwoofer that provides that punch to the music. This systems total output power sums out to 650-watts, which is more than enough to provide a thrilling experience to movie enthusiasts.
Features:
* 650 watts total system power
* HDMI 1.4a for compatibility with 3D media
* 4 HDMI inputs, 1 output
* Supports the latest high-definition audio and video formats (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio)
* 5.1-channel speaker system including subwoofer
Pro’s:
Quality built, receiver is heavy and well ventilated, sturdy, heavy and wooden speakers. Shipping was also very good – well packed in a heavy box.
The amplifier belongs to the same circuitry and the power rating is similar to that of an expensive Denon receiver, just like the ones in 591 and 1611. The THD and power are equally good, just like the more expensive models. It does a great job using the included speakers.
No issues with the HDMI inputs. Denon is expected to have handshake problems, but none faced by me so far. My Motorola DVR, Samsung PNC50C450 and Sony BDP-S570 blu-ray sync up perfectly without any issue.
The sound can be tweaked based on your need, it just requires you to be patient.
Adequate speaker wires are included along with the package.
Con’s:
Initial setting up process is a tedious one.
Surround auto setup is missing.
Speaker distance has to be measured manually.
